Glendale Farm Open Space

This past Saturday we went to Glendale Farm Open Space, about a twenty minute drive from our home. It is a one and a half mile trail around rolling hills on an old farm and is very "out west" feeling. Margaret Mary walked VERY SLOWLY for about a quarter of the trail. She would stop and examine rocks and flowers, put them in her pockets, and kept on telling the wind to "go away!."

The rest of the time, she was carried by her loving Papa. Jason had to get creative.

At the end of the trail were these big, beautiful rocks. Margaret Mary, being so adventurous, wanted to walk on them. Jason sat her down at told her "Baby, you have to be careful because these rocks are dangerous." Margaret Mary looked up to Jason and said with the sweetest, most confident voice, and said "Papa will hold me." My little girl was telling us that she wasn't scared of the rocks because she knew that her Papa would be holding her. How beautiful, and what a great picture of what OUR confidence should be like, knowing that we are beloved sons and daughters of our Heavenly King.

When we told MM it was time to leave the rocks, she said in a slow, sad voice "I want to stay here." So, we stayed for a little while longer. How can we refuse our daughter anything that is just and reasonable?

What fun.

Henry fussed for a little while (the wind was kinda strong), and then went to sleep. But I bet you knew that already...
