My Best Friend's Weddding

Jason and I love all the adventures we have been on together...Honduras, Florida, Colorado, back to North Carolina....but it has caused us to move RIGHT as friends are starting to get married.  It has been sad to see old friends tie the knot via pictures, not to be a part of the celebration.  When I got the text that Lauren, my best friend from middle school, had gotten engaged, I was SO EXCITED!  Remember Lauren???

How could anyone forget Lauren?

There was no way I was going to miss this one!  I got even more excited when I learned she was getting married in Charlotte, only an hour away from where we live now.  We booked the hotel room, got friends to milk our cows, got my parents to babysit the kids and Jason and I went out on a date to celebrate this big day.

Lauren and I always dreamed in middle school what kind of men we would marry and I am happy to say that she picked a good one.  Patrick blew me away with his confidence, his sincerity, his love for Lauren and his ability to make light awkward situations. I was near tears almost the whole ceremony as I saw my middle school best friend beautiful and truly in love, making vows and being loved whole heartedly in return. I was a little upset as my camera was not up for the low light situation and I was in the back, so being unable to zoom was pretty frustrating.  I found myself going back and forth on wanting to simply soak in the wedding, and wanting to try to capture it via camera.  Here are a few of my favorites...

Here is the bride, fighting back the tears, walking down the aisle...

Whose favorite part isn't the kiss?!?!

Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Pleiss

Did I mention the reception was on top of a roof? Overlooking downtown Charlotte? beautiful!

Lauren and I, 14 years since middle school....

Hard to believe its been 14 years since this!!!

Jason and I were totally exhausted by 10ish and I'm embarrassed to say we had to leave the party early. When we got back to the hotel, our little Henry had a fever and we remembered that our big ol van was illegally parked, and Jason had to wake up at 2 AM to go move it.  Nothing like having kids to remind you of how old you are getting!  The next day I officially turned 6 weeks pregnant and the symptoms hit like a truck.  I was so thankful for this last night out, this date with my husband, and this chance to see Lauren and Patrick get married.

To Lauren and Patrick, we are so excited for yall...many happy years to come!
