Farm to Fork and Family

We had a great time having Granny, Alyssa and Grandad in town the other weekend. We played with chickens, went to the county's "Farm to Fork" dinner, danced and took long walks in fields.  Margaret Mary and Henry loved playing with their cousin Alyssa and being doted on by their Granny. They kids always love watching their Grandad work. Having our children be around their family more often was a HUGE reason why we wanted to move back to the east coast. I love the series of of Tammy (Granny) holding Peter. This weekend she met him for the first time and it was bittersweet. Bitter because Peter is six months old, but sweet because they finally got to meet each other.   We hope to have lots more play dates with cousins and time with family in the future!

Peter Peter Pumpkin Eater

 Why, hello there.

 Hey Mom! Check this out!

At six months, Peter is on the move! He is almost crawling and is scooting all over the place. My favorite thing that he does it when he pushes up on his hands and legs at the same time and makes a triangle in the air.  Peter loves the outside.  Because of the beautiful fall weather, I have the front door open a lot to hear the kids playing outside. But, I can't get any work done cause Peter is constantly scooting out the door onto the raised porch to explore.  He puts everything in his mouth.

We love Peter so much! He is an outgoing little guy who is just so joyful.

Peter has started some solids, but isn't too excited about them yet.

We haven't found a family doctor yet, but I can't wait to get Peter weighed, the boy is a chunk!

Our Big Girl

Margaret Mary is adventurous, strong willed and imaginative.

MM: WHen I grow up I want to be a Mommy with a house and a baby and a Papa. Can you come and be the Papa?
Jason:  No, but God has someone special for you if God calls you to be married.
MM: WHO IS HE?
Jason:  I don't know sweetie.
MM: Lets pray to ask God to tell us his name.
Jason:  You have to be much older.
MM: Like 14?

Catching up: Fraternus weekend

A few weeks ago, we went to Covecrest for the Fraternus Board of Directors meeting. Jason spent a lot of the days in meetings, but we got to hang out with all the other families.  My favorite story from the weekend involves the above picture.  A minute after I took this pic, Henry fell in the water and got really upset. I took him back to the house to change clothes and left MM with the other families.  Walking back to meet up with the group, I saw a naked little girl running across a field like a tribal girl.  Then I recognized that girl:  my daughter.  Apparently, her dress had gotten too wet and she had just stripped down.  The girl loves to be naked outside.  It's like she knows that's how we were meant to be. Later, some of the kids went to see a waterfall and when they got there a girl exclaimed, "Margaret Mary would love it here! She would think it is so beautiful that she would just take off all her clothes!"  Too funny.

As I said, we got to spend a lot of time with friends from Florida that we haven't seen in a while.  It's amazing how much they have grown.

My girl loves the spotlight. Here she is doing ballet in front of the group.

And now for the group shots...

The below group shot came out funny because none of the families are grouped together. It's hard to tell whose child/wife is whose. Oh well, maybe next time.
